Winter seems to be just around the corner with the change in weather we’ve been experiencing lately, and plans for Christmas 2011 are already well underway. It’s important to consider people’s transport and commuting habits in the run up to this crucial time of year for many brands.

Despite the snow and ice we have experienced in recent years, December is the busiest month for Luas in terms of passenger numbers, with 10% more passengers compared to an average monthly Luas commuter flow*. During December, many of these commuters will be using Luas to access the capital’s main shopping hubs, making it the ideal platform to capture shoppers en route to making purchase decisions.

  • 42% of people who have seen Luas advertising in the past week are tempted to buy products they have seen advertised.
  • 63% of these people would class themselves as bargain hunters.
  • 40% agree that when they see a new brand they often buy it to see what it’s like.

Luas has also proved to be a fantastic showcase for some really creative Outdoor Innovation. Column wraps, illuminated and/or rotating special builds on columns, tram dominations with exploding straplines and portrait panels, and stunning exterior tram wraps have all been used to great effect for brands that wanted to add extra impact to their Out of Home activity in recent months.
