JCDecaux is delighted to have recently been awarded the contract to manage the prestigious Northern Ireland Transport Holding Company (NITHC) advertising portfolio and identify and develop new advertising opportunities across the bus and rail network in Northern Ireland.

Around 77 million passenger journeys are made across the Translink network each year. Colin Campbell, Head of Property & Estates at NITHCo/Translink stated “The Goldline coach service has seen a 20% growth in patronage in recent years and last year 10.4 million rail journeys were taken in Northern Ireland. There has been a 67% growth in local rail passenger numbers since 2002, far exceeding government targets and it is clear that many more people here are choosing the train as their preferred way to travel”.

29% of NI adults are regular bus and rail commuters in Northern Ireland (travel once a month or more). 37% of adults in Greater Belfast are regular bus and rail commuters. 44% of regular commuters are aged between 15-34 and 55% (224,000) are main shoppers.*

The NITHC/Translink range of products include roadside and railside 48 sheets, 6 sheets in stations and iconic bridges throughout Belfast city.

Joanne Grant, Managing Director of JCDecaux Ireland believes this contract has great opportunities for the out of home advertising market. “JCDecaux is the premium provider of out of home advertising in Northern Ireland and we are looking forward to expanding the potential of this network and developing some new concepts and formats for the Northern Irish market in the near future”.
