This is how Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Leo Varadkar T.D. described the Luas network as he launched the new link line to Citywest and Saggart.
This extension is expected to add another two million passenger journeys per annum, branching off at Belgard on the Red line and stopping atFettercairn, Cheeverstown, Citywest Campus, Fortunestown and terminating at Saggart.
The latest figures show that more than 27 million passenger journeys are taken on Luas each year. Since Luas launched in 2004, more than 177 million passenger journeys have been made.
The new extension to Saggart is great news not just for commuters, but for advertisers also as it extends the Luas audience reach even further into new areas of Dublin.
